SEO is Dead and Google Killed it!

Yes, that’s exactly what Google would like to have happen.  They want the little guy, the beginning internet marketer to fail at getting their content on Google’s first page for free.  They also want experienced SEO people to disappear because Google loses money if you get to page one without a PPC (pay per click) ad.

The first thing you need to know is that no matter what you do in life, there will be challenges so just face them and move forward.  The second thing you need to know is that there are other people out there who might know more about this stuff than you do, so let them figure out the tough stuff until you can figure it out for yourself!

I’m one of those people who knows enough to be dangerous but it wasn’t always that way.  I used to struggle to move a picture ¼ inch to reposition it in my blog.  SEO was something I had never even heard of back then and just an FYI…. “back then” was only a couple of short years ago.  Fast forward to today and I’ve learned an whole lot, so much that sometimes I’m surprised at what I can do!

This should give you hope, because just a couple of years ago, I know knew how to use email, read a spreadsheet and use Google.  I knew less than most of you and I was frustrated!  I wanted to learn internet marketing and I couldn’t even understand the words that that people were using to teach it to me.  URL, hyperlink, backlink, anchor text, tags, meta tags, pages, posts, submissions and on and on.  I felt like I had moved to China and didn’t speak the language and needed a job but no one would hire me because I seemed like an idiot!  Can you relate?  I’m certain that some of you can.

Take a deep breath because I’m going to teach you and I’m going to explain it all.  Put your fear aside because this is going to be fun and you’ll learn to earn as long as you don’t quit.

Ok, Back to Google and their crazy cast of animals.

Periodically Google decides to make a major change to their algorithm and over the last 8 or so months, they’ve done it twice.  If you’ve been marketing online or have a blog you may have noticed your Alexa ranking go up (up is bad) and you may have seen your Google posts disappear from where they used to be.  Don’t worry, it happened to me too!  It didn’t hit everyone as hard as some people and there’s a reason for it.

post turtle 300x225 SEO is Dead and Google Killed it!You see, the people who have been taking their SEO strategies to a high level of “perfection”, making certain that everything had a place and everything was in it’s place, got hit the hardest.  Why?  Well, it’s a bit like a “post turtle”, there he is sitting up on top of a post.  Now you know that he didn’t get there all by himself naturally, cause turtles can’t climb poles, but there he sits, in a high place taking up space.  Google figured out that you only got to that spot because your SEO was spot on perfect, but when they Panda and the Penguin took a closer look, they realized that it wasn’t what it seemed to be.

Slap!  Down you go Mr. turtle, get off the post because you don’t belong there.

Does this mean that SEO isn’t working anymore.  Not at all.  It just means that you need to change a few things to get past the penguin or whatever the next critter Google spawns will be called.  SEO is constantly changing, which makes it interesting!  Keep in mind that adversity always exposes opportunity and this is no exception.  There is a way to get top positioning and top ranking but it’s NOT what the majority are doing.  While everyone is scrambling to revamp posts and doing it wrong, I’m making small adjustments to my site and will soon be sitting on a post like a hawk instead of a turtle.

My question for you is are you a turtle or a hawk?  Are you trying to get back onto the post with some artificial help, or are you going to fly up there and look down at all the turtles who are trying to figure out how you got there in the first place?

I wanted to know that for nearly 20 years before I was exposed to online marketing and then I wanted to know what the secret to online marketing?  I started to seek out someone who could tell me the secret to online marketing.  I spent hours and then days searching and trying to connect with someone who could tell me whats the secret to online marketing.

I ran across this guy Jonathan Budd.  He seemed like he might have an idea, but I kept thinking that he was just some kid living in his parents basement who was making videos and telling people that he knew what’s the secret to online marketing.  Well, I didn’t believe that he was the real deal so I kept looking.  Yep, I know… He’s for real.

I found another person named Eric Worre who seemed like an old school network marketer.  He had a cool site, but somehow seemed to old for my tastes and heck, did he really know what’s the secret to online marketing?  I kept looking.

How about this dude named Frank Kern?  Seemed like he might understand what’s the secret to online marketing.  He had a huge house, nice cars and always wears expensive shirts.  He certainly might know what’s the secret to online marketing.  I opted into his list and started reading his emails.  I realized something… he knew how to write ad copy but all he was doing was selling me his stuff.

What’s The Secret To Online Marketing? The Search Continued…

Randy Gage was brash and in your face and I liked the fact that he was a bit of a goober, but in a sophisticated kind of way.  This guy was making money like crazy and he certainly knew what’s the secret to online marketing!  I watched his video’s and learned a ton of stuff and I kept wondering, what’s the secret to online marketing?

I was getting closer and one day, I ran across Dani Johnson.  Wow, this lady was different!  She had some great training and I bought a bunch of her stuff.  I even contemplated going to a training in Texas, now I live in Pennsylvania and I couldn’t get the time off from my job (I now hate that word), so I didn’t go.  I Called her office and asked them “what’s the secret to online marketing?” Unfortunately, Dani isn’t an online marketer so I kept looking.

Mike Dillard!  Now this guy got the whole picture in a nutshell.  He knew what’s the secret to online marketing, heck, he wrote the book on it!  Magnetic Sponsoring was an awesome read but I needed to learn more so I kept looking and that was when it happened!

What’s The Secret To Online Marketing?  This Guy Knew it…

I ran across a guy, a relatively unknown guy who was just beginning to have some success on the internet.  That guy was David Wood.  Yep, before David Wood was an internet phenom, sponsoring machine and company creator, David Wood was living with his parents but planning to move to Costa Rica.  David Wood and I connected and began to form a relationship where I could learn what’s the secret to online marketing.  I eventually joined Numis Network with David Wood and built it to the 3 Star level but I was determined to learn more.  “What’s the secret to online marketing Dave”, I kept asking?  David Wood always chuckled in that crazy laugh of his and kept telling me, “you already know the secret”.   “What, what do you mean by that”, I’d ask?  I’d hear, “ha ha… there is no secret….that’s the secret”!

No secret… NO SECRET!  All this time I have been asking “what’s the secret to online marketing” and David Wood is telling me that there is NO SECRET!  I wanted to kill him.  Then, wanted to give him a hug!  I just realized that he told me that I already knew the secret.  I had been learning all along over the past 2 years and David Wood, internet phenom is telling me I already know what to do.  What’s the secret to online marketing?  I just needed to extract it from my brain and place it into order, then start to apply it.  That’s exactly what I did. I began to move forward, working like a maniac, day after day, week after week, month after month.  Finally, it started to happen and then…. It all changed.  I was on the phone with David Wood from his home is Costa Rica when he told me that I was going to make a bunch of money easier than I had ever made money.  He said, “You wanted to know what’s the secret to online marketing”, well, not only are you going to get the whole secret, but you are going to get “my system” with it!  He was talking about Empower Network and at that point it still didn’t have a name.  I said “ok”, when?  He didn’t know yet but he said “soon”.

Time Ticked Away As I Waited To Find What’s The Secret To Online Marketing To Be Passed Over To Me…

It was Oct. 4th and I had a call with David Wood.  He told me that Empower Network would be launched at the end of the month.  I was excited, then he asked me if I was going to come to Florida for the pre-launch and I had to decline because of my job.  One Oct. 28th, just 2 weeks later, I was let go from my job.  First thought… crap.  Second thought… this is great!  Third thought… I could have gone to Florida!  I was mad again.  I got over it quickly and realized that I lost my job the very day Empower Network launched.  Was it just coincidence?

Look, I used to love my job.  Then, they gave control of my division to some inexperienced people who never did my job, but they decided that they were going to tell me how to do it better.  I appreciate help and criticism, but when the help actually decreases my effectiveness and my income along with it, I don’t want it.  I tolerated many misguided plans from management but after 2 ½ yrs. I had reached my limit and I rebelled.  2 ½ months later I was let go.  They didn’t want thinkers, they wanted drones.

We Are All Gods People

I’m a Christian and I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and that he gave his life on the cross so that I could be forgiven of my sins.

Why is this important for me to tell you? Because I am flawed, just like most of you. I am also a sinner and I’ve done some things in my life that I am not proud of and I was wrong to do them. The good thing is that I am forgiven and I can move forward with my life knowing that I am alright with God.

Some of us aren’t able to look at things that way. Some of us hang on to things and allow those things to get in our way, sometimes…for the rest of our lives. I used to be like that. I used to dwell on my mistakes and allow those things to haunt my thoughts and cause me to continue to fail. It wasn’t until I gave my life to the Lord, that things changed.

Amway Taught Me Something…

motorcycle cop 300x198 We Are All Gods PeopleI remember many years ago at an Amway convention (no I’m not in Amway anymore), hearing the story of an older lady who had been happily driving up the road going quite a bit over the speed limit when she passed through a speed trap. Completely unaware, she continued driving at the same speed while a police officer with lights flashing followed her attempting to get her to pull over. Finally, after following this woman for over 4 miles, she finally noticed the flashing lights and was shocked that he wanted her to pull over.

The woman pulled her car to the side of the road and a very irritated police officer approached the car. He tapped on the glass and the woman rolled down her window, “Do you have any idea how many miles I have been following you…Didn’t you see me?”, the officer said. The woman replied, “Excuse me officer, but I only pay attention to where I’m going and not where I’ve been.” Isn’t this how you should travel through life? Do your best to live a life well lived. For me, that means following the Lord and doing what he would do. The past is the past, it happened but it can only affect you if you allow it to.

Would Money Solve All Your Problems?

Let’s talk about money. Most of us wish that we had more of it, right? Most of us think that money will make our problems go away, life would be easy and we could just relax. Not true. It doesn’t matter how much money you make, you’ll still have problems. Personally, I don’t give a rip about money. Not because I have a boat load of it, because I don’t. I don’t care about it because I have become grateful for what I have, no matter how much or how little that is. The bible says that contentment is great gain.

Years ago all I could think about was what I would buy if I had a bunch of cash. I wanted a Rolex Presidential, a Harley-Davidson motorcyle, a German luxury sedan and a big house. Today, I don’t want any of that stuff, I just don’t care and I certainly don’t need it. I’d rather use that money to take care of the homeless with food, clothing and shelter, drill wells in Africa to save lives, feed some starving kids and make a small difference in this world. I’m not saying that wanting all of the stuff that I used to want is bad. I’m just saying that I don’t want any of that, anymore. If it’s your dream, that’s fantastic and I want you to get it and I’ll do everything that I can to help you to achieve your goals.

Some people might think that I’ve lost my dream, but that is absolutely incorrect. My dream and my priorities have changed and yours probably will too as time passes, it just might not be the same as mine and that’s OK. I have big dreams…HUGE dreams! I want to affect people in a positive way and change lives. I’m fortunate that I have a business that is positioned perfectly to do just that. I have the luxury of time leverage and the feast of the harvest in residual income. What does that mean? Well, in my humble opinion, jobs area a dead end. I’ve had 2 of them over the last 10 years, they both reached an end in the road and frankly, I don’t relish the idea of ever having another one.

Is A Better Job The Answer To Your Money Woes?

Albert Einstein We Are All Gods PeopleWhen I was let go from my job, some people started suggesting ideas for where I could go find another one. Thoughtful of them, but I am not looking that direction. What is the definition of insanity? Well according to one of the smartest men ever to live, Mr. Albert Einstein says that it’s doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. So why is it that so many people who can’t make it on a job income, react to losing their job by immediately searching for another job? Both of my jobs paid me less than I was worth, worked me more than I was paid for and demanded more than I was hired to do. I hear that this is fairly standard in the job field today so I have to wonder…why on earth would anyone want a job?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a business that you controlled, earned you more money and allowed you tax deductions that you aren’t eligible for as an employee? Did you know that ever day that you are an employee, you literally burn a $20 bill? I mean that you are paying an extra $20 per day in taxes as a full time employee as opposed to running a business from home. That’s $400 a month or $4800 a year, lost money, handed over to the government in the form of income taxes.

Take Control Of Your Life And Start A Home Based Business

Today, I’m far more excited about my self employed future.  I have multiple businesses to grow and I now have the most incredible viral blogging system to market as an affiliate and founding member of the Empower Network. My good buddy David Wood and his partner David Sharpe have created something phenomenal and in less than a month, at least a dozen people have created full time residual incomes and have no need for a job. One of my other friends, Kris Darty, had $10,000 in sales volume in his first week, oh and did I mention that you get to keep all of the money?

When I had a job, I was away from home a lot, my wife of only 5 years was alone with our dog. I didn’t marry her to be away from her. I enjoy being with my wife, we are a team. Each of us one half of the whole. Where I have weaknesses, she has strengths and vice-verse. Together we are unstoppable because we are working toward the same goal and working as if we are working for God.

I hope that you can step out of your comfort zone and get a little uncomfortable to build a better life. Rewards come with risk, but it all starts with one little step forward, that first step is when you enroll in a good MLM company or affiliate program.
